Book review2 Rip Van Winkle

This is a story about the man whose name is Rip Van Winkle. This story was written by Washington Irving, who is a famous writer. I studied about him in my American literary History's class. I wanted to read this story, so I was very happy when I found this book in the library. This story is very similar to Japanese fairy tale "Urashima-Taro".
Rip Van Winkle is a farmer, he lives with his wife, daughter and son. He doesn't like working in the farm, so he went to the bar and talked with friends all day. His wife was very angry at him. One day, he went to the mountain with his dog, which name Wolf. He is a Rip's best friend. Rip and his dog stayed at the mountain until the evening. They started to go down the mountain, but suddenly he found a very strange man. The man is very old and had a lot of white hair and beard. Rip talked to him many times, but he never answered. Rip is very kind man, so he helped this strange man. The strange man had d big barrel on his back, so Rip carried this. They walked in the mountain and finally arrived at the building. Around the building, there were many people look like the strange man. Rip and the strange man drunk the drinks in the barrel. After a while, Rip fell asleep. In the morning, he woke up, but there are no building and no people around him. His dog is also escaped. Rip felt very strange, but he decided to go home. He went down the mountain, and arrived at his town. But everyone in the town is strangers to him. He asked many people about his friends. Some men answered to his questions. They said that his friends were dead in the war against Britain. They asked him "Old man, who are you?". Until then, he didn't realized that he got old. He had a long white beard like the strange man he met yesterday. He answered their question, "I'm Rip Van Winkle," but no one believed. Finally, he could meet his daughter and son. They lived together in his daughter's house. This is the man who slept in the mountain for 20 years. This is the story about Rip Van Winkle.
This story was very interesting, and easy to read for me.
