Book Review 9 The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

This story was written by Washington Irving. I wrote the book review of the Rip Van Winkle, this was also written by him. I learned about him, because I learned about him in the my American literary class. I'm very interested in this story, because we saw the first half of this story's movie in the class.
This is a story about the man whose name is Icabot Crane. He was the very tall and thin man, and he worked in the school as a teacher. In the village, they loved Icabot, Icabot also love people in this village. He really like to talking with people in this village. They often gave him food. There was a beautiful girl named Katrina. She is a daughter of the Van Tassel. Van Tassel had many farms and a lot of money. Icabot wanted to her, because he wanted her father's money. But there was also a man who wanted to marry with Katrina, his name is Brown.
People in the village believed, there were ghosts in the Sleepy Hollow. One day, Icabot received the letter from Van Tassel. Van Tassel was going to have a party that night. He wanted to go the party, because he could meet Katrina there. He went to the his friend's house to borrow the horse. He could borrow only the very old horse with one eye. He went to the party and ate many food, danced with katrina and sang sings. After the party, he wanted to talk with Katrina, but she didn't want to. She suggested him to go home, so he went home with his horse. He went through the Sleepy Hollow. In the middle of the Sleepy Hollow, he heard strange noises, and suddenly his horse stopped walking. After a while, he saw a ghost. The ghost was riding a horse and cheased him. He wanted to run away, but his horse didn't move. The ghost didn't have his head, but he had it in his arm. The ghost threw a pumpkin to him.
Next morning, horse went home alone, so people in the village were very worried about him. They went to the Sleepy Hollow to find him, but they couldn't find him.
A few years later, a man went to the New York came back to the village with big news. Icabot was alive and lived in New York. People in the village were very surprised. They couldn't understand why he was in New York now. They believed that he was dead in the Sleepy Hollow. Katrina got married with Brown, and they lived happily.

I think suspect of Icabot's missing is Brown. Icabot wanted to marry with Katrina and He wanted too. So he acted like ghost and frightened him. This is my thought. This was very interesting for me, and also easy to read.
